Credit Sesame is a legitimate credit service company providing free basic credit services. The free service includes a Transunion score, free credit monitoring and $50,000 in identity theft insurance.
The Better Business Bureau, BBB, gives Credit Sesame an A+ rating. This calculation doesn’t include customers reviews. Although, you can see customers reviews on the BBB profile page for the company, separately.
As with any service you obtain for “free”, there will probably be some type of marketing push from the company for other paid services. These paid services are optional and is up to you to decide if they’re worth it for you.
You can still obtain the free score, monitoring and identity theft insurance without buying the paid services or upgrades from Credit Sesame.

Industry accreditation – As far as safety is concerned, Credit Sesame currently has an A+ rating from the BBB. The business has been accredited since 2011 and it was created in 2010.
Website security – If you visit the company’s website, you can see these security credentials. These credentials represent industry standards used as part of online security.
Credit Sesame Free Identity Theft Insurance
The basic service provides $50,000 worth of identity theft insurance. Credit Sesame offers free credit monitoring. This is protection against fraud, forgery, breach of data and in case your identity is stolen.
Credit monitoring is recommended to protect your credit identity against fraud. This feature alerts you in case accounts are opened using your identity, credit inquiries are made and suspicious activities is found in your account.
You can obtain a higher level of identity theft insurance ($1 million) and more detailed monitoring of your social security and address change monitoring with the paid service.

Botton line on Credit Sesame
Credit Sesame free service is a good tool to monitor your credit, get a free score and obtain $50,000 in identity theft insurance. That’s a good free basic package. Also, your profile gets updated every month. So, you can see how your score is improving.
The disadvantage of the free service is that it doesn’t include a credit report, only the score. However, you can obtain free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com. You won’t get a free score from that site though.
You can obtain both credit scores and reports with the bureau TransUnion.
