Conclusion (2024)

At the end of the play, Troy Maxson is dead and his family is gathering for his funeral at his house. We learn that Lyons, Troy's oldest son, is in jail and Cory has returned as a Colonel in the Marines. Rose is an avid church goer and has kept her promise of taking care of Raynell, Troy's daughter. The fence is finish, and there is a garden in the yard and the yard looks better than it ever did when Troy was alive. Also Bono is there and Troy's brother, Gabriel, has shown up for the funeral too, with a trumpet that he plays believing that he is playing the trumpet of St. Peter and welcoming Troy into heaven. Gabriel, who has always viewed Troy as a hero, still holds on to this believe and as he plays his trumpet, the play ends and the rest o Troy's family finally makes peace with who he was and his actions, and realize that even though he did a bad job of showing it, he really did love them.
