Well I live about an hour out of AC and there is no comparison to Vegas. Vegas is bigger, cleaner, more fun (you can actually walk around and not feel scared) like in AC. I have been going to Vegas for the last six years and probably will never return to AC. Just a whole different atmosphere out there. The fun never stops. Enjoy your trip - you will end up addicted like the rest of us and probably never return to AC.

Vegas is so much bigger than AC. More casinos, more people, more restaurants, just MORE.
We got to LV 2-3 times a year, but we do go to AC once a year, usually in the fall. Just because it is an easy trip and we get free rooms at the Borgata (which is gorgeous and very much in the vein of Bellagio and Wynn).
AC is like Vegas without the hustle and bustle, and more pigeons.

We have been to Las Vegas many times. Once we went to AC to compare to Vegas. I don't care if I ever go back to AC. Really didn't feel safe and some of the most rude people I've ever been around.

tHATS WHAT I FIGURED. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO ac SINCE I HAVE BEEN 18 YEARS OLD. (THEY NEVER ID'ED ME) :) Its just so scummy and it defiantly is a little bit intimidating for outsiders because you walk anywhere else but on the strip and most likely you will be mugged..lol

Vegas is beautiful and glamorous for the most part. I have never been afraid in Vegas.
AC, on the other hand is majorly dirty and run-down. We walked to a liquor store and it was just plain s c a r y !
Although the casinos were nice for the most part in AC, the walking between one place to another was kind of disturbing!
Las Vegas is a dream destination in comparison.

I have been to both several times. Here is the comparison that I always give people who ask:
The ceaser's palace in atlantic city is about the size of the bathroom at ceaser's palace in las vegas.
Hope that helps.

I'm born and raised in Jersey. Although AC is no comparison to Vegas its not THAT bad or scary!
Its like comparing Six Flags to Disney though!

Vegas has more of everything- shows, casinos, restaurants and attractions. There is so much more available. I haven't been back to AC since I started going to Vegas. There is nothing in AC that can compare to the strip or even downtown. You can also go off strip for other casinos and restaurants- you aren't confined to one area. There is a certain vibe that is just not in AC. I also think most people consider AC a local attraction with many people going just for one day unlike LV which draws people from all over the country and all over the world.

AC - basically boardwalk area and few blocks
Vegas - Strip goes on for miles, then you have downtown with more hotels and off-strip with even more hotels
You will have a ball.
Do us a favor, when you get back, let us know how they compare.
