Battlefield 4 will now be banned from sale in China. The reason being given is the supposed discrediting of China's national image in the plot line of Battlefield 4. According to a report in Slashgear, the Chinese Ministry of Culture has directed that the game be removed from all physical shelves as well as all China-based online sales channels.
The Chinese Ministry of Culture has suggested that, "Battlefield 4 is an illegal game, with content that endangers national security and is all about cultural invasion."

The expansion pack Battlefield 4: China Rising has four maps of the Chinese mainland, new vehicles, new equipment and new assignments. The plot consists of a fictional war on the Chinese mainland which is stirred up by an Admiral who wants to take the government down. In order to fight him, China and the US team up. This dosen't seem to have gone down well with the authorities.
People who have already downloaded the game, will not get access to any online content and are being asked to delete the game from their consoles and PCs. Even the Chinese translation of Battlefield 4, "ZhanDi4", has been censored on China's biggest social media site weibo.com. But according to ZDNet reports, online users are sharing Battlefield 4 using peer to peer download links.
After the constant technical glitches plaguing Battlefield 4 since its release for which developer DICE had to put other projects on hold, this ban is another bad news for the game.
