For more information, please contact the CBP Information Center at (877) 227-5511. Importing into the United States CBP will facilitate about $2 trillion in legitimate trade this year while enforcing U.S. trade laws that protect the economy and the health and safety of the American people.

You can visit the CBP Web site at www.cbp.gov or call CBP at 1-877-CBP-5511 (1-877-227-5511) Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time. You may bring the incorrect Form I-94 and documentation (passport and visa) to any CBP Port of Entry or Deferred Inspection Office.

CBP has established an easy to use traveler compliance check that is available on the I-94 website. Travelers may check their admission status at https://I94.cbp.dhs.gov and clicking on the 'View Compliance' tab. E-mail notifications will come from travelercompliance@cbp.dhs.gov.

If you are a U.S. citizen, you need only answer questions establishing your identity and citizenship, although refusing to answer routine questions about the nature and purpose of your travel could result in delay and/or further inspection.

Border patrol agents are usually responsible for larger areas, such as off-road regions with few or no other security measures. CBP officers work almost exclusively at ports of entry, such as airports, and may spend more time inspecting packages and processing paperwork than interacting with people.

Option #1 - Online Correction

Visit the I-94 website and scroll to the bottom. Click "Contact CBP". In the "Topic" field, select "I-94/Traveler Compliance" from the dropdown menu. In the "Applicable Issue" field, select "I-94 Correction(s)/Travel History" from the dropdown menu.

It can take between 5 to 7 business days for updates/corrections to be processed by the CBP Deferred Inspection Office.

Can CBP check your phone? ›

CBP agents may swipe through your phone or look through the documents on your com- puter. The government also claims the authority to copy the data on your electronic devices.

Pre-employment investigative screening (such as the collection and review of fingerprints and the Questionnaire for National Security Positions, the polygraph exam, and the background investigation) can take up to 12 months, or longer.

As of Apr 17, 2024, the average annual pay for a Border Patrol Agent in California is $84,116 a year. Just in case you need a simple salary calculator, that works out to be approximately $40.44 an hour. This is the equivalent of $1,617/week or $7,009/month.

To report undocumented immigrants, please call the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE to report suspicious activity.

You can check the status of your application from your TTP Dashboard www.ttp.dhs.gov, which is displayed after you login. If your application status is "Pending Review" then your application has been received and is being processed. Please note that processing times vary by applicant.

As an alternative to filing a complaint to the OIG, complaints involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) employees can be sent to the Joint Intake Center (JIC).

Information for Prospective Retirees
