Moreover, the amount of new issues in DM market didn't outperform the number of the last year - 6%, however the amount of new issues in EM market outperformed the number of last year for 29% respectively compared to February 2023. 🧮11 sovereign issuers tapped the global debt market in February 2024, placing 18 Eurobonds for a total of $19.8 bn. Romania was most active participant of sovereign debt market with 2 Eurobonds for a total amount EUR 4 bn. CEE sovereign emitents issued almost 33% of all sovereign Eurobonds in February 2024. Since the beginning of 2024 CEE sovereign emitents issued more than 80% of all CEE Eurobonds.👶Debut issuers raised $26.6 bn on the international bond market in February 2024. Emerging market emitents share is equal to 6% in February. Solventum Corporation, American healthcare company, which operates in separation and purification, health information, medical solutions, medical device component and oral care market, issued largest debut Eurobond of February for $6.9 bn in six tranches.🌱The amount of new ESG issues placed in February 2024 is equal to $31.8 bn. This month's amount of newly issued ESG bonds is decreased for 28% compared to February 2023. Another notable observation is the stability of the SAR, which experienced a marginal weakening of only 0.1%.Conversely, the Turkish lira and the Argentine peso experienced the most significant depreciations during this period.It is worth noting that from the beginning of the year until mid-February, the exchange rate dynamics of most considered currencies closely mirrored those of the dollar index against major currencies of developed countries. At the same time, compared to last year, the share of issuances in dollars increased by 10 percentage points due to a reduction in the share of the euro.The industry leadership in bond placement, as in the previous year, is held by banks, financial institutions, and the energy industry.A notable factor is that the industry of government agencies and development institutions also made it to the top in terms of placement volumes.
