Why do I need car insurance?

There are two very good reasons you need to insure your car.

First, a car is a significant purchase for a lot of people. If something goes wrong or you're involved in an accident, repairs can prove expensive – especially if there’s another car involved. But, with the right car insurance, we'll cover the costs so you aren't left out of pocket.

The second reason is much simpler. By law, you must have at least Third Party Cover in Ireland. Driving without insurance is an offence and can result in fines, 5 penalty points and a mandatory court appearance. In some cases, you could even be sent to prison or disqualified from driving.

What does car insurance cover?

Our car insurance product is designed to provide financial protection to the owner, user or driver of an insured car, in the event of a motor accident, which through the use of the car may result in injury to any other innocent third party or damage to property. It may also provide cover for the policyholder’s own vehicle in the event of fire, theft and malicious or accidental damage.
