Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been out for three weeks now and we can finally get into more of the film. For instance, the age-old question of who would win in a fight between Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch.
I compared both magical users’ abilities, whether innate or learned, and used evidence from within the Marvel Cinematic Universe films and TV shows to form a conclusion. Was I right?

At the end of the day, their magical powers seem pretty even-keeled. Both had the power of telekinesis, conjuration, transmutation, astral projection, teleportation, and time manipulation. There were some things here and there that one could do that the other could not, but thankfully they are both on the same side.
It was just the methods they used their powers that differed from one another. Doctor Strange had to learn how to use magic—there’s nothing innate about his ability. He studied books to learn his magic and became one of the best members of the Master of the Mystic Arts. Meanwhile, Scarlet Witch’s magical ability was something she was born with; though they were enhanced by the mind stone. As we discovered in WandaVision, Wanda Maximoff wasn’t just born with any old magic, she had chaos magic — which is what made her the Scarlet Witch.
Who Would Win: Scarlet Witch or Doctor Strange?
Before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, our best answer came from WandaVision. When Agatha Harkness explained Wanda’s true power to her, she discussed how she uses Chaos Magic, making her the Scarlet Witch. The Darkhold prophesized that the Scarlet Witch would destroy the world; that she was more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. Now, technically, the Sorcerer Supreme is Wong — and the latest Marvel film confirms that the Darkhold is correct — the Scarlet Witch is more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. Wong was never really a match for Wanda during the film, having been taken her prisoner for most of it. But what about Doctor Strange himself?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proves without a shadow of a doubt that Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, would and does beat Doctor Strange. Strange puts up a good fight, but it’s not the good Doctor who stops Wanda. Ultimately, it’s America Chavez who sends the Scarlet Witch to Earth-838 where our Wanda sees her kids of 838 recoil in fear of her. It’s at that moment that Wanda realizes the Darkhold changed her and decides to let Wong and Chavez go and destroy the book.
So there it is! The Scarlet Witch can indeed beat Doctor Strange! What did you think of the fight sequences between Wanda and Doctor Strange? Let us know in the comments below!
According to me she wins 8/10 times with Mid-High Difficulty in her fight against Dr. Strange. If Strange is given enough time to prep and prior knowledge on Wanda's powers he might come up with some cool powerful magic tricks and win but if it's a face to face fight Scarlet Witch is the winner.
Darkhold didn't make Wanda stronger directly. Darkhold, The Book of the Damned, contains many dark spells and an entire chapter devoted to the Scarlet Witch. By reading the Darkhold, Wanda learned so many new spells like dream-walking which in turn made her stronger.
Doctor Strange's magic allows him access to great power, but Scarlet Witch's power is more intense and incomparable. Her inherent skill allows Scarlet Witch to fight even the strongest of enemies and manipulate her surroundings.
Original Doctor Strange was more powerful than original Wanda. Original Doctor Strange, a. k. a, classic doctor strange could do literally anything and was one of the most powerful beings in Marvel.
In the comics, Doctor Strange's third eye is an organic manifestation of the Eye of Agamotto. It represents the wisdom of the sorcerer Agamotto and his fellow Vishanti, allowing Strange to see his enemies' true intentions and break magical illusions.
Wanda could not defeat Thanos, but she was able to stop the Mad Titan with one hand while destroying an Infinity Stone with the other. What Wanda did in Infinity War is even more impressive considering that Thanos had five of the six Infinity Stones in his gauntlet.
Strange says Wanda's actual mutant power is to reshape reality, adding that her talk of tapping into "chaos magic" is a lie because such a force does not exist.
Wanda is an incredibly powerful being but her biggest weakness comes from her inability to take a hit. She is a glass cannon, taken unawares she is just an ordinary human. Walk up behind her unaware and shoot her in the head.
Thanos without the mind stone is highly impervious to mind control. The only evidence of 'mind control' in the movie is by Mantis, and even so, she commented that, 'He is very strong. ' She probably wouldn't be able to hold him longer than she did with Ego in GOTG2.
In the MCU, Scarlet Witch may put up a good fight, but Thor wins majority if not all of the fights. Scarlet Witch is definitely powerful but she is a glass cannon, one Stormbreaker strike and she dies.
Even if she did have that kind of control, Raven's power was on-par with her father Trigon, who could easily destroy the universe with 1/10th of his power. At full strength, Scarlet Witch had nothing that could top that.
When it comes to the Avengers who can beat Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange is undoubtedly one of the most potent contenders. His ability to manipulate the fabric of reality and his mastery of the mystic arts make him a formidable adversary.
Doctor Strange can be easily defeated by simply preventing him from speaking, as demonstrated in Thanos #2. Thanos effectively neutralizes Doctor Strange by strangling him with his own cape, taking advantage of the sorcerer's inability to cast spells without speaking.
With his expert combat skills and powerful technology, Black Panther is undoubtedly one of the Avengers who can beat Scarlet Witch in one-on-one combat.
