Bye bye, Robin's Nest! Iconic Magnum, P.I. property demolished

WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - That's a wrap! The iconic Magnum P.I. residence known as the 'Robin's Nest' wasdemolished over the weekend.

The 8,900-square-foot Waimanalo mansion was torn down after a demolition permit was issued for the property last month. Drone video taken over the weekend showed the most of the property in pieces.

There are no structures remaining on the site, which has beensurrounded with black construction fencing while crews remove the rest of the debris.

Plans for the demolition were first made in 2015, when the property was sold for $8.7 million. The historic estate was said to be 'in need of major repair' at the time of the listing.

The Magnum P.I. housewasbuilt in 1933 and has been afamous landmark in Hawaii. It was also used as a filming location various movies and television shows, including Hawaii-Five-O.

The future plans for the property are currently unknown.
