We have seen some sites that will suggest employing the softest setting toothbrush to use, but we recommend standard microfiber lens cloths or a fully 100% smooth cotton cloth.
Begin by gently placing your Tanzanite ring in a medium to the large bowl of room temperature soapy water. Too hot or too cold could crack the stone.
• You may use a dishwashing liquid, but it must be free of bleaches and the mildest form as abrasives would be damaging to your gemstone.
• Distilled water will also be an even better choice if you live in an area where tap water carries with it harsh chemicals.
• A plastic container would be even more favorable. You do not want the ring to bang against the sides of the ceramic bowl.
Let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then dry your ring off with the microfiber or cotton cloth, in light circular motion, much the same as you would a bathroom mirror but obviously on a much smaller and more precise scale.
