Hey guys!
I thought I would answer this common question I find amongst many wedding groups/forums.
The simple answer is no and here I am going to explain why hiring a wedding planner is certainly worth YOUR investment!
Fact – on average a wedding planner will spend 250 hours of their time planning your dream wedding.
Most couples work full time and don’t realise how much time goes into planning one single event. So if you fit within this category, then a wedding planner is perfect for you! If you haven’t planned a wedding before then you will certainly enjoy theexperience of using awedding planner.
Wedding planning is in fact a profession and it isn’t as easy as what most people think it is.A wedding planner will havespent a lot of money toqualify themselves as a plannerand spent hours of time studying their desired job. Wedding planners arenaturally creative, thinkers, well organisedas well asexperts dealing with problems.
Part of the planning process is overcoming the SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Wedding planners are experts at dealing with common problems and rectifying them which most average couples will not know how to over come these. You can seek advice from friends and family but you can never be sure yourself as to whether you are following the correctprocedure.
I alsohear a lot ofweddingsuppliers letting couples down last minute. Therefore they have tofind someone else within such a short period of time and this causes no end of stress. This vendor could have had something unique which the couple really wanted at their wedding and to find another supplier like them may be a challenge. Especially within theirlocation so the couple iseither going to have to pay for the extra mileage for anothersupplier or either seek an alternative option all together which can cause great disappointment.Wedding planners use contracts with all theirsuppliers and generally have close relationships with them so you can be assured that the chances of this happening is highly unlikely. I am not saying this wouldn’t happen if you used a wedding planner because sometimes unforeseen problems can occur but by having a wedding planner by your side, they will elevate all your stress and find you the nearest alternative option and do whatever they can to ensure this still fits within your set budget.
9/10 times the average wedding couple will go over their set budget too. A wedding planner istrained to manage a budget as well as sharing their knowledge with you, giving you lots of money savingtips along the planning process. Also, with them already working with suppliers, the chances are they are going tobe able to get you a betterdiscount. After all, it is their job to save you money and accomplish your every wish and demand.
You may also wonder why some wedding planners charge so much money for their services and others not so much? Well here is your answer… some wedding planners have many years of experience and work on weddings that are far more complex than the average wedding therefore, they are working with higher budgets so this is probably the reason whythey are going to charge more for their services. It’s the same as any profession really, the more experience you have, you become a senior and therefore get a greatersalary – the same applies to wedding planners! Some wedding planners charge far less for their services and this is nothing to be concerned about. The chances are they don’t have the experiences of a senior wedding planner and generally work on smaller budgets as suppose to luxury/beach wedding. Always check a wedding planner’ portfolio first to get an idea of what type of weddings they have worked on and their styles.
8/10 times a wedding couple will look back on their wedding day and wish they had done at least one thing different. This is probably due to little knowledge of planning an event, knowing what works and what doesn’t and not having as much time on their hands as they needed. By hiringa wedding planner, they can share their knowledge with you and inform you of any problems you could incur before the eventto save you any disappointments on your big day. Being a wedding planner is such a huge responsibility because if anything goes wrong, the couple can only blame them and it is their responsibility to ensure everyaspecthas been covered before the date of the wedding. If they messed up on just one wedding, it could in fact ruin their entire reputation and business.
A wedding planner willmake your wedding unique and one that will never be forgotten because they know how to achieve that WOW factor every bride dreams of! This is because you canget so muchmore out of your money with the investment of a personalwedding planner.
I hope this post helps you understand the responsibility, expectations and demands of a wedding planner and gives you all the confidence you need to hire one. I promise, you will never look back and regret it!
Love,
Heidi
