Oxford is recognised as offering one of the best educations in the world and competition for places to study here at undergraduate level is intense. On average we receiveover 20,000 applications for approximately 3,250 places each year.

Making a competitive application

To make a competitive application by our 16 October* deadline, follow the steps on this page:

1. Choose a course and make sure that you have met or are on target to meet the admission requirements
2. Explore our colleges and decide whether to express a college preference or make an open application on your UCAS form
3. Look at our admissions timeline and note the deadlines
4. Read our guide for applicants to learn about each stage of the admissions process.
