Altered Item Definition
An altered item is a product or piece of equipment that has undergone some sort of modification or change from its initial state. A modification can be made to enhance the item’s performance or functionality, transform it for a different purpose, or repair it. The addition of a new feature or the replacement of a broken component are examples of minor changes.
More significant changes include a complete overhaul of a piece of equipment. An altered item might occasionally be regarded as a brand new product with its own distinct features and capabilities.
