You work extra hours, clear your emails on a weekend, get in early. But if you take 1 minute extra for lunch. You are in an office being told off. Like a child. But you said it was an adult environment. If this resonates. Sophie.Diffley@raw-selection.com#recruitment #executivesearch #culture

Nobody likes repeating themselves, but this seems to be standard interview practice. As an interviewer, you interview a person multiple times most likely but you don’t ask the same questions. As an interviewee, you meet with 3 to 10 people and they all ask you the same questions. Why are you interested in this job? What are your reasons for leaving? Now it can be used as a way to catch out a different answer, the liars, but is it a valuable use of the interviewer's time and a great experience for the candidate? What we have implemented at Raw Selection is a candidate-applicant system for internal talent. When our internal talent manager, Sophie, completes their first call instead of writing it down on a pad they type up the notes, whilst on the call, onto the candidates' record on the system. #interviewing #privateequity

The initial interview is your S & S call, screen and sell. You want to assess, is this person worthy of the next stage and if so, I need to sell this opportunity to them. The reason I suggest 30 minutes is that you are time-poor and for the right people, you can always go over time. But the wrong people will expect to speak for 1 to 1 and a half hours so set it for 30 and focus on do they meet the scorecard and do they fit culturally, then sell the opportunity.Step 1.
