When it comes to the kitchen guests are looking for that at-home experience. Some just want the option of cooking while others consider it a priority. The thing about kitchen supplies is the moment the guest needs the essential, they’ll notice it’s missing.

If your guests make pasta and look for the strainer only to see there is none they will have to get creative on how to strain the water. When they go to open the bottle of wine they bought to go with dinner they will be disappointed when there is no wine opener.

That said since this is an investment property where you are providing an experience you will want to give your guests just that. The reviews we have received as super hosts always mention the little things that made them feel special. As we have gone through the process we have added more little touches that go a long way.

They make your guests feel appreciated and special. Believe me when I say they do not go unnoticed. Now let’s get into everything you’ll want to consider for your Airbnb from the must-haves to the extras.

Must-Have Checklist

(Click on each item for the link to shop)

This Airbnb kitchen list is what you should include at the bare minimum. Not all guests will need everything on this list but it will make them feel more at home. The items will also last you since they will not be used regularly.

In my experience, most guests will make pasta or quick meals that are easy to prepare. For the most part, they are not on vacation to cook gourmet meals.

The thing to remember is your guests are staying at an Airbnb for the experience of being a part of the local community, the ability to cook if they choose, and to have the comforts of home. That said you’ll want to cover all the bases in your rental.

Airbnb Kitchen Electronics

The electronics on this Airbnb essentials list are also part of the must-have list in my opinion. Every Airbnb should include a microwave, coffee maker, and tea kettle option even if it’s just a bedroom.

These are non-negotiable if you are looking to gain super host status. We provide French vanilla creamer, coffee, to-go cups, and ceramic cups with the Keurig. It’s a nice touch that guests really appreciate.

In the fridge, we always have water bottles stocked as well. I know our guests LOVE this because they always help themselves to the water.

Extra Airbnb Kitchen Supplies

I think you should have wine glasses, wine openers, and beer openers no matter how small the space is. Again you may not have guests who are looking to drink but for those who are these are necessities.

The rest of the items on the list are extras but if you rent to families with children have an ice cream scooper handy. Just saying.

Kitchen Condiments

This is the list of the bare minimum condiments. If you do not host often let your guest pick up their own milk.

We started off supplying the milk but moved to vanilla creamer when it kept going bad. It just does not last and the worst thing is a guest lets you know the milk in the fridge is spoiled.

If you don’t want to invest in a starter spice set you can start off with chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, curry powder, thyme, oregano, ginger, and cinnamon.

Cleaning Supplies

For a full list of everything you need to clean the Airbnb check out 33 Home Cleaning Products You Need So Your Airbnb Guests Return. The above Airbnb supplies list will help you stock up on kitchen cleaning products.

These are essential in my opinion especially if you’d like your guests to clean up after themselves. You can’t expect guests to pick up accidents if there is no broom or vacuum available.

Airbnb Baking Kitchen Extras

  • Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Rolling Pin
  • Electric Beater
  • Loaf Pan
  • Cake Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pam

This list is optional and only if you think you’ll be hosting bakers or families. We only host adults so I don’t think we’d supply these but I have read that guests enjoy the option. I even read the suggestion of supplying brownie or cookie mix to inspire guests to bake. Again this is extra but I’m sure it will help you get to super host status quicker.

Remember the key to raving reviews, happy repeat guests, five stars, recommendations, and super host status is all the extras you supply.

Your goal should be to create an experience that feels like your guests are a part of your world for a short time. You want them to feel at home and welcome.

There are a few blank lines in case I missed anything. Let me know BTW if I did so I can add them to the list.

We have had nothing but positive Airbnb experiences and would recommend it to others. If you are nervous don’t be! Invest the time and money in making your rental space unique and special and that is the quality of guests you’ll attract.

If you show the value in your listing with awesome photos, a great description, and extra amenities you’ll be able to price your listing higher and attract an abundance of guests.

Happy hosting my friends!
