Hands down the MGB is the best classic car investment, these cars have been going up in value over the last 10 years. Take the MK1 MGB GT… not many of these are left on the road being made only from 65-67. 10 years ago you could pick them up for £2500 ora decent MOT’d car for less than £8000.. and early roadsters have sky rocketed to over £25,000… the factory V8 cars are following nicely as well around the 20k mark. But at the other end you can pick up good rubber bumper projects which are great investments. Limited edition cars like the Jubilee GT and the LE GT and Roadsters that start at a couple of grand will see good results in the next few years.
The MGB is still an affordable, usable classic investment.
MINI
If you are looking at simple money making then I would say a classic Mini would be your best bet on that front. Cheap parts and if done properly a good return on your investment.
XK140
If you want a more enjoyableand pleasurableinvestment then my choice for which car is the best investment would have to be an XK140 like the one featured in the film Cruel Intentions.
TRIUMPH2000/2500/2.5pi range
My choice for the best investment classic car would be the Triumph 2000/2500/2.5pi range.
Developed in the early 1960's they were classically styled with Italian lines along with a newly developed 6 cylinder 2000cc engine for smoothness and performance. Fitted with twin carbs and modern brakes, independent suspension and spacious interior the new Triumph 2000 served the family man and business man. In 1968 the 2.5 fuel injected engine featured the first fuel injection system to a volume production car and gave sports car performance in a comfortable saloon.
1969 saw the development of the MK2 range alongwith the same classic style, revised interior, modified engines and choice of overdrive and automatic gearboxes. Today the cars have an excellent owners club, readily available parts and anenthusiasticfollowing. A car still capable of being used every day.
