6 Natural Teething Remedies - GROWING THE TUCKERS (2024)

Having a teething baby can be tough! It can be hard to find natural, nontoxic products to help them. We choose not to use Tylenol with our daughter unless absolutely necessary. We personally don’t like the ingredients in Tylenol so we try not to use it.

If you are interested in learning more about why we choose to use natural products in our home check out The Beginners Guide to Natural Living.

We’ve tried several different natural teething remedies for our daughter and I thought I would help some other mamas out and share with you guys.

1 . Teeth Tamer, Earthly.com

I’ve mentioned Earthly before but I really like this company. Teeth tamer is an alcohol-free tincture without any nasty chemical ingredients.

You give the recommended amount to your little one as often as they need. Our daughter loves the taste of this stuff so there is no fight to get her to take it.

We notice a huge difference shortly after giving it to her and we always keep it on hand. We ran out one time and we were so thankful to get more in.

2 . Camilla Teething Relief

I heard about this from a friend before I heard about Earthley’s Teeth Tamer. These are a great store bought option but I like Teeth Tamer better. These work pretty well and we still used them if we don’t have Teeth Tamer.

3 . Frozen applesauce bites

Okay so this isn’t a medicine or anything but they helped us so much. I got this idea from my cousin and I wish I would’ve known about it sooner.

I just take a cookie sheet and line it with parchment paper. Then I put drops of applesauce on the paper and put it in the freezer.

Once they are frozen I take them out and transfer them into a container and put them back in the freezer.

When my daughter is teething and needs some comfort we just take some out and give them to her. The cold helps her gums and she loves the taste, so it’s a win, win!

4 . Frozen Pacis

Our daughter never would take a paci but we would freeze them and she loves to chew on them. It’s the same concept as the apple sauce bites, the cold really helps her. We found these pacifiers work the best for this.

5 . Copaiba essential oil

Copaiba has somewhat of a numbing effect. We diluted it with coconut oil and rubbed it on Braelynn’s jawline and it helps a lot. Some people also dilute it and put it on their child’s gums. I had a toothache once and rubbed some copaiba on my gums and it helped so much!

6 . Frozen breastmilk pops

There are many different ways to do this. Some like to freeze breastmilk in bottle nipples and let their babies chew on them. We froze breastmilk in ice cube trays (we only filled up the tray halfway so they were small cubes). Then we would put the breastmilk cube in a mesh pacifier thing and let her chew on it. She seemed to like this and it seemed to help her.
