While the average monthly rent for an apartment in America is $1,124, there are some destinations that you can live, including the cost of rent, food, and transportation for less.

Travel Noire has compiled a list of five countries to live in for less than $1K using data from Numbeo: the world’s largest cost of living database.

The cost of living in Argentina is up to 60% less than in the United States.

You can get by in Argentina for about $1,000 per month.

As for rent in Buenos Aires, you can generally expect to pay between $500 and $1,000 but expect to pay significantly less in other areas.

One of the cheaper destinations in the Caribbean is Grenada, according to data from Numbeo.

A one-bedroom apartment outside the city center can be found for as low as $300 per month. If you want a city apartment, a one-bedroom is a little higher at $500 per month.

Rent in Ho Chi Minh City will cost you a little more but rent in the beautiful beach city Nha Trang is only $349.
