4 Benefits To Why You Should Use A Written Budget Worksheet (1)

Following a budget ends up becoming a drag for a lot of people. They absolutely hate it and refuse to keep a budget of any kind.

Then, you have your budget nerds who obsess over keeping budgets. They enjoy endless Excel spreadsheets, and go goo-goo for ga-ga over the latest budget apps. Mention budget templates and watch their eyes light up. This group of asset allocation geeks have no problem at all crafting and following a budget.

Lets discuss the group that falls somewhere in the middle. This group doesn’t have a problem sticking to a budget. But, prefers a simpler budget sheet. This person doesn’t like to be bothered with pulling up complicated Excel spreadsheets filled with endless columns and rolls. Or deal with the monthly fee some apps charge.

This is the category I fall into. I’m comfortable with budgeting. I don’t hate it. But, I’m also not in the goo-goo for ga-ga group. I like to use simple paper and pen to keep a budget that works for my monthly expenses.

I’ve created a Simple Easy Budget Calendar so you can easily record your monthly expenses.

A budget worksheet that even the budget haters can enjoy using with ease. There’s a section to calculate emergency expenses and changing expenses that only come up during certain months.

I created this budget calendar to make it simple and easy to use for those of you who just don’t like budgeting. But, know your life would be so much easier if you just kept better track of your finances.

Here are my 4 benefits to using a written budget worksheet.

1. It’s Always At your Finger Tips

You don’t need to be glued to your phone or a computer to use this budget. The images and colors are pretty and eye catching. Which helps relax your mind and minimize stress.

Even if you decide to use another written budget just simply jolting down your expenses in an organized fashion on paper or in a note book or binder lets you know exactly where to find that information next month.

Written budgets are very easy to store and retrieve. You don’t have to worry about power outages and Wi-Fi connections.

2. Writing is Therapeutic

Some people just like to go old school and use paper and pen. Sometimes too much screen time gets annoying. We do everything on our phones. Give your eyes a brake every now and then.

You can also choose to journal about that month’s expenses in the note section of the Easy Simple Budget Calendar.

Figure out why you are spending so much by writing things out. This can help you get better control of your mindset to figure out how to better manage your finances and monthly expenses.

3. You Will Be Surprised At The Amount Of Money You Can Save

Everyone loves to save money.

By keeping a written budget you’d be saving money in two ways.

First, by not paying monthly fees or buying fancy software. Even though some budget apps are very helpful and fun, they are not for everyone. Just because they are the new in thing doesn’t mean you have to use them.

Second, once you start keeping a budget worksheet you will start to see exactly where your money is going. You will understand your spending pattern. Some of you may realize just how much money you are wasting every month that could easily go into savings for something important.

Such as retirement, college funds, or a new car. Once you start adding money to savings you wouldn’t have to borrow money and go into debt the next time an emergency arises.
