Since the Big C, many people have been fanatic about cleaning. When it comes to your home or an Airbnb space there are many home cleaning products on the market to help you with this task.
If you’re like me you have your go-to home cleaning products that you buy over and over.
I’m definitely a creature of habit in this department.
Guest will NOT return if your space is NOT clean. This is an area you MUST master to get repeat guests.
It will take some scrubbing but the ROI will be worth it!

Airbnb Home Cleaning Products Checklist

Before we get into my favorites I’m going to share some best practices. If you’re still concerned with the Big C, you’ll want to protect yourself before you clean your space.
This includes the gear you’ll need just to be on the safe side.
Home Cleaning Protective gear
You can help reduce your exposure to germs and chemicals by using the following equipment while cleaning:
- Disposable gloves
- Mask or cloth facial covering
- Safety glasses (for cleaning the bathroom)

- Shoe coverings (optional)
- Face shield (optional)
Best Equipment To Clean
With some basic supplies, you’ll be able to efficiently make your way through the cleaning process. Here’s what you need:

- Bucket (if necessary)

Must Have General Cleaning Products
These general cleaning products are great to have on hand. They make the cleaning process much easier.
Bathroom Toilet Cleaning Essentials
A clean bathroom is a must-have so don’t skimp here. Guests will appreciate the extra effort. If you get that annoying yellow ring or mark then you need a pumice stone.
I recently purchased this for our main bathroom toilet and it worked fabulously. I can’t even begin to tell you how well it worked!
You will need to scrub but trust me it’ll be so worth the effort. There’s nothing better than knowing your money was well spent.
Guests will appreciate a clean toilet along with the rest of the Airbnb space. It’s the little things that’ll make a big difference and go a long way.
Dusting
Since dust accumulates over time it’s a great idea to wipe down moldings, fans, appliances, and tables regularly. This will make it much easier to maintain and less work in the long run.

Extra Airbnb Cleaning Tips
- Even if you have hardwood/tile floors, you also need a vacuum cleaner. Sweeping the floors just moves all the dust and hairs around the room.
- When cleaning the toilet you MUST clean the entire bowl (top to bottom).
- In addition, you need a minimum of 2 sets of sheets per bed as well as 2 duvets (if that’s what you use).
- Make sure you also have a lint roller. Clean sheets can have hairs clinging to them so you’ll need to remove them.
- 3 sets of towels at a minimum are required. You’ll always need extra towels as these get damaged easily.
- When it comes to supplies, you’re going to use a lot of toilet paper. Stock up! The same goes for hand soap, shampoo/conditioner (if you provide that as well), and garbage bags. You do not want to run out of garbage bags.
If you hire a cleaner, I suggest you clean your own space now and then.
Doing so will give you a sense of the quirks to get the space ready. It’ll also be good to check in on the quality of your sheets, towels, supplies, etc.
The best way to keep the standards high is to clean your own Airbnb on occasion.
