Also, it’s annoying to find that something you bought at a store was available for a lower price on Amazon. Some stores will refund you the difference in their price match policy after you’ve made your purchase!

Here are stores that will match lower prices on Amazon.

1. Walmart

I see a lot of people asking, “does Walmart price match Amazon?”

Well, indeed it does!

And on top of all the ways you can save money at Walmart, this makes it even better.

How it works

If you find a lower price on Amazon, on an identical, in-stock product, Walmart will match it.

The catch

Here’s the catch with Walmart’s price matching policy:

• Walmart will not price match items purchased on Walmart.com that later decrease in price (including price reductions and Rollbacks).
• The item must also be in-stock on Amazon’s website and on Walmart.com at the time of the price match request.
• The item must be identical – i.e. size, quantity, brand, model, and color.
• There’s a limit of one price match on one item per customer a day.
• It does not match prices from, or on behalf of Marketplace and third-party sellers on Amazon. So the product it matches must be sold and fulfilled by Amazon.

Target does price match Amazon.

How it works

Target will match the price if you buy a qualifying item at Target, and then find the identical item for less at Target.com or Amazon. You can request price matches at the time of purchase or within 14 days after purchase.

You can get price matches and adjustments in-store on any lane. For Target.com purchases, just call Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869.

The catch

There are a few guidelines for the policy:

• The price for an item must be listed and valid at the time of the match.
• The product must be identical – i.e. brand name, size, quantity, weight, model, and color.
• The item must be in stock on Amazon at the time of the price match.
• The price match excludes marketplace prices from third party sellers.

Best Buy matches Amazon’s prices as well.

It will price match identical items.

How it works

Best Buy matches prices in-store and online.

Find a qualifying product and if you want to price match online, BestBuy.com orders are available for price matching by chat or phone.

If you want to match the price in-store, then just visit any Best Buy store and present the qualifying competitor’s ad or website.

The catch

Here’s the catch:

• The product needs to be identical to the competitor’s product – i.e. brand, model number and color.
• It must be immediately available on Amazon.
• Items that are sold by marketplace vendors or shipped from or sold by third-party sellers are excluded – so again this means that only products sold and fulfilled by Amazon are matched.

4. Academy Sports and Outdoors

Academy Sports and Outdoors will not only match Amazon’s prices, but it will beat them by 5%. That’s pretty impressive!

How it works

If you want to get an in-store price match, then just take in a printed or digital copy of the ad and it will make the adjustment at the register.

5. Advance Auto Parts

Advance Auto Parts will match the price of any identical or comparable product that’s available the same day on Amazon.

How it works

You’ll have to show your mobile device or a printout from Amazon that guarantees same day delivery on the product. The price match must include the shipping charges in the price of the product.

The catch

• The item must be either an identical product or comparable product – i.e. it should match quality size, etc.

How it works

The catch

Bed, Bath & Beyond provides a matching policy.

How it works

You can request a price match before or after your purchase.

You can get a price match in-store by going into any Bed, Bath & Beyond store, and presenting a qualifying competitor’s ad or website to an employee.

Or, you can request a match by phone. Just call 1-800-GO-BEYOND (1-800-462-3966) and share the qualifying competitor’s ad or website with one of the store’s representatives.

The catch

Here are the caveats to the price match promise:

• The competitor’s product must be identical (as in brand, model number etc.) and in stock on Amazon.
• Prices are matched up to 14 days after the date of purchase.

Find a lower-priced advertised on Amazon for an identical electronic product or equivalent Dell, HP, Apple, or Lenovo computer, and Dell will match the price.

How it works

Just get a link to the lower priced product on Amazon.

Share the link showing the exact-match, lower-priced item with a Dell sales expert.

Or share the link in the chat tool on Dell.com or call 1-877-717-3355. Once validated, it will complete your purchase.

The catch

There are a few catches to the guarantee:

• If it’s a computer you want to price match, then it must share the same key features and specs with a Dell PC (click the “more details here” link below to learn more).
• A new electronics or accessory item sold by Amazon must have an identical Manufacturer’s Part Number to an electronics and accessory item sold in the “for home” section of dell.com.
• Dell does not match prices of items that are fulfilled by a third party – so the order must be sold and fulfilled by Amazon.

9. Dyson

Dyson provides a price match promise, which means you can get those same awesome prices you’d find on Amazon for some items.

How it works

If within 30 days of purchase, you find the same model currently advertised by an authorized US Dyson retailer at a lower price, the store will refund you the difference.

To get started, just contact the brand’s customer service team by calling 1-866-664-9004 or chat online.

You will need to provide proof of the advertised price with the website URL of the product you want to price match.

The catch

There are a few caveats:

• The product must be the exact same model number, as it appears on Dyson.com.
• The item must be in stock.
• The item must be new and in original packaging. It cannot be refurbished, used, damaged, returned, open box, a clearance item, or a demonstrator product.

How it works

If you see something cheaper on Amazon, Fry’s Electronics will match it for you.

How it works

Before you make a purchase from Fry’s in-store or online, if you see the same item at a lower price on Amazon, Fry’s will match the competition’s promised price.

12. Home Depot

Get low prices from Home Depot.

How it works

Home Depot provides a Price Match Guarantee on online or in-store purchases.

The price match guarantee for online purchases includes the price of the item plus the shipping cost.

For in-store pre-purchases, if you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from Amazon, Home Depot will match the price.

So if you wanna save money at the Home Depot, just bring a printout or photo to the register for validation – this may involve the employee contacting the competitor.

The catch

Here’s the caveat to the store’s low-price guarantee:

• The item must be available from Amazon to ship to your location.
• The item must be identical and in-stock.

HP is another store with a policy that helps you to get the best deals.

How it works

At the time of purchase, HP.com will match the current pre-tax price for new comparable PCs and identical HP printer, display and accessory model numbers from Amazon.com.

Call 1-800-888-0229 before purchase to request a price match and to complete your new purchase. Price match requests can’t be completed via email or chat.

The catch

There are a few limitations to the offer:

• For PCs, the product model number does not need to match. But, the PC must be a comparable PC, such as: desktops and laptops manufactured by Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung, and HP, which have the same specifications as a HP PC that’s listed on store.hp.com.
• For HP printers, displays and accessories, the product model number does need to match.
• The policy is limited to one price match per item, per guest.
• The policy doesn’t apply to items that are advertised as limited-time, limited-quantity, out of stock, open-box, clearance, refurbished items, used items, and trade-ins.
• The item must be in-stock to be eligible for price matching.

14. JCPenney

JCPenney has a lowest price guarantee policy.

How it works

If you find a lower current advertised price on an identical product from Amazon, just call customer care at 1-800-322-1189. Or go into store and it will beat the price by 5%

It offers its lowest price guarantee on any retailer’s in-store and online prices – including Amazon.

If you’ve already made your purchase, you can still get a price match, if a lower price is still valid. Just present the qualifying ad with the JCPenney customer receipt within 14 days of purchase and the store will reimburse the difference. And it will also beat that lower competitor price by 5%.

The catch

Here are the guidelines for the guarantee:

• The guarantee does not apply to products sold by a third party on Amazon.
• The item must be in-stock to be eligible for the lowest price guarantee.
• The price match doesn’t include shipping charges. It applies to the item only.
• It does not match competitor’s prices on open box, display merchandise, outlet items, or used products.

15. Lord & Taylor

Lord & Taylor provides a pricing policy too.

How it works

If you find a lower advertised price on Amazon for any item that Lord & Taylor has in-stock, it will match the price.

Contact the store’s customer service to request a price match by calling 1-800-223-7440 and provide proof of the price on Amazon. You can provide proof through the Amazon website, which the customer service agent can view to verify the price of the item.

The catch

Here are the requirements and exclusions for price matching:

• The item must be in-stock on Amazon.com.
• The product needs to be identical to the Lord & Taylor item, including color and size.
• The item must be sold and fulfilled by Amazon, as the store does not match third-party sellers on Amazon Marketplace.

Lowes will price match Amazon.

How it works

If you find an identical product from amazon with a lower advertised price, including shipping and handling, Lowes will match that price.

Just shop at any Lowe’s store for in-stock products, and find the same product on Amazon with a lower price.

Show a store associate the price online and they will verify that the product qualifies and match the price for you.

The price match offer is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.

The catch

Here’s the guidelines and exceptions to the Lowes price match guarantee:

• The store doesn’t match prices of third-party marketplace sellers on Amazon. It only price matches items sold by Amazon.
• The item must be identical – as in the same brand, size, and model number.
• Price matches for online items will only be compared to competitor’s localized pricing online.
• The item needs to be in stock with both Amazon and Lowes.
• The price match guarantee doesn’t apply to discontinued, used, refurbished, clearance, closeout or damaged merchandise.
• The guarantee also doesn’t apply to advertising pricing errors or misprints.
• Certain brands don’t qualify for the price match, including: Dacor, ICON, Fisher & Paykel, Monogram, SMEG, Liebherr, Weber, Kichler and Nest.

Newegg is one of the best online tech deal sites. It also offers a price match guarantee for select items.

How it works

Items that are eligible for price matching have a Price Match Guarantee badge on their product pages on the Newegg website.

You can look out for this badge on various product pages throughout the site or once you’ve chosen a product category, perform a “Power Search” by selecting the “Price Match Guarantee” checkbox within the “Useful Links” filter.

Just purchase an eligible item with the guarantee badge on the product page. Find a lower price from Amazon, and let Newegg know about it within 14 calendar days after the date of your purchase. Just submit a claim form to request your price match.

The cost difference will be credited to you in the form of a Newegg Customer Care card that you can use on the brand’s website or mobile app for 90 calendar days from the date of issue.

The catch

There are a few caveats to this deal:

• The offer only applies to identical items.
• It excludes third-party sellers whose products are sold through Amazon. So, the item needs to be sold by Amazon.
• The offer also excludes auction site prices, and open box or refurbished items.

Petco will price match stuff at any competitor’s store, including Amazon!

How it works

While brick-and-mortar Petco stores won’t match the prices of other online sellers or websites, Petco.com will indeed match Amazon’s prices!

So, if you shop online, this is pretty handy.

Petco.com will match prices found on Amazon.

The catch

There are a few limitations and guidelines for the offer:

• To qualify, the item must be in-stock.
• You can’t combine a price match offer with a separate offer from Petco. So, you can’t get a price match on an item and them apply a coupon or other deal to it to lower the price even more.

Tractor Supply Co. has a competitor price match policy.

How it works

Tractor Supply Co. will match any competitor’s online price on any identical item.

To get a price match, see a Tractor Supply team member or contact the Customer Solutions Center for details.

The catch

There are a few caveats to the policy:

• It does not cover items shipped from or sold by third-party or Marketplace sellers. So, the item must be shipped and fulfilled by Amazon.
• The price must be valid at the time of the price match. The item must be in stock – no rainchecks will be issued.
• It does not match prices on used, refurbished or pre-owned versions of its items, or on clearance items, or products from close-outs or liquidations.
• The store also doesn’t match prices on purchases made more than 30 days prior.
• Prices that are a result of a competitor’s advertising errors are also not matched.

West Marine will match a lower price on Amazon.

How it works

To get your price match, you can visit your local West Marine store, chat with an associate online, or call 1-800-262-8464 and let one of the store’s associates know that you have an item to price match.

You will need to provide the name of the competitor, the price of the item, or the online location where you saw the price.

The associate will confirm the price of the item and make sure that it meets all of the requirements for the store’s price match guarantee and match it.

The catch

Here are the limitations on the store’s price match guarantee:

• It will only match products sold directly by Amazon – so no items from third party sellers.
• It won’t price match items that are refurbished, open box, damaged, auction items, like eBay and Amazon Marketplace, clearance products, items that are in going-out-of-business sales, and prices that are the result of ad errors.

Every Store Price Match Tip

If your favorite store or website isn’t listed above, don’t lose hope yet.

Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Either email the website or talk to the manager at your favorite store and find out if they have such policies.

Some stores may even have policies in place but they don’t advertise it. If they do, great, you just saved yourself some cash.,

But what if they don’t?

Politely ask them whether they’ll consider matching the lower price you found on Amazon. A lot of people don’t realize it, but store managers have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to giving deals and discounts to customers on a case by case basis.

If you get a lower price, great, you save money. But even if you don’t, you didn’t lose anything but a few seconds of your time.

Closing Thoughts

There are plenty of stores that’ll match Amazon’s prices, including popular retailers, like Walmart, Target and Best Buy. So give them a try!
