The Coin Album Case/Jacket is inscribed "COINS IN CIRCULATION" at the bottom.
In the centre is mentioned the name of the issuing Bank - "CENTRAL BANK OF THE U.A.E."
It shows the Emblem of the United Arab Emirates (Arabic: شعار الإمارات العربية المتحدة) which was officially adopted on 09.12.1973 (2 years after independence in 1971); it was later modified in 2008. It is similar to the Coats of Arms and Emblems of other Arab states.
It consists of a Golden Falcon (Hawk of Quraish) with a disk in the middle, which shows the UAE flag and seven stars representing the seven Emirates of the federation. The falcon has 7 feathers also representing the 7 Emirates. The falcon holds with its talons a red parchment bearing the name of the Federation in Kufic script.
Prior to 22.03.2008, when the emblem was modified, the falcon had a red disk, which showed an Arab sailboat in its interior, surrounded by a chain (as is seen in the above image).
The Front Cover of the Coin Album shows, at left, the Banner of Arms which serves as the National Flag.
The Flag of the United Arab Emirates (Arabic: علم دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة) contains the Pan-Arab colours red, green, white, and black. It was designed in 1971 by Abdullah Mohammed Al Maainah, and was adopted on 02.12.1971. The main theme of the flag's four colours is the unity of Arab nations. In 2008, there was a minor change to the Emblem.
Merchant ships may fly the alternative civil ensign, a red flag with the national flag in the canton. Emirates Airlines utilises the UAE flag as part of their livery.
All seven Emirates use the federal flag interchangeably as the flag of the emirate.
In the centre is the map of the U.A.E.
The Back Cover of the Coin Album is identical to the Front. The inscriptions on the Back Cover are in Arabic.
Pages 1 & 2 (Inner) - descriptions given below
The inner Page (One) of the Coin Album gives a brief description of the National Day (02.12.1971), population, Area of the UAE, location, climate, time and currency of the Emirates (Dirham). The UAE comprises - "Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras-al-Khaimah & Fujeirah. A brief about the evolution of UAE's currency is mentioned as under: "Following institution of the United Arab Emirates, the need then arose for the establishment of a monetary authority to undertake issue of the national currency. Accordingly, the U.A.E. Currency Board was founded, and issued on 19th May 1973 the first national currency. The Board launched banknotes and coins carrying the country's name and depicting some landmarks and landscape scenery from various parts of the country. The U.A.E. Central Bank was established in 1980 per Union law no. 10 of 1980 to replace the Currency Board. In accordance of the new law, which authorises the Central Bank to issue the currency, new currency banknotes were launched in 1982 only in the Central Bank's name. These new banknotes went into circulation along with old banknotes of the former Currency Board's issue of the beginning. Old Banknotes were then gradually withdrawn from circulation and banknotes of Central Bank issue became the only currency banknotes in circulation."
