History[]

2 Fast 2 Furious[]

Suki drives a Honda S2000 during the race hosted by Tej Parker. During a majority of the race, she remains in last place behind Orange Julius' 1993 Mazda RX-7 despite her best efforts to get ahead of him.[4]

When Tej reveals his surprise for the race is a major jump across a draw bridge, Suki successfully manages to take Orange Julius' lead when he backs out of the race. She makes the bridge jump near the end of the race and returns to the starting line of the race, but the car also suffers minor cosmetic and radiator damage.[4]

When Monica Fuentes signals the U.S. Customs agents to besiege the street racers, Suki and the other racers then escape the finish line when the cops arrive. Suki's S2000 is later used during the car scramble by her friends while Suki drives the Mitsubishi Eclipse to distract the cops so Brian and Roman can escape undetected in the muscle cars they won earlier.[4]

Specifications[]

Suki's S2000 has a custom set of pink vinyls and a bottle of Nitrous behind the seats. Its engine is a 2-liter aluminum-alloy DOHC F20C1 inline 4 with a Comptech supercharger. It also features a Paxton Novi 1000 Toucan Industries exhaust with a non-functioning Ractive chrome tip. Appearance mods include a VeilSide Millennium body kit, Motegi Racing 18" rims, and airbrushed artwork done by Noah of Noah Fine Art.

On September 15, 2020, famous YouTuber Doug DeMuro reviewed the S2000 at the Peterson Automotive Museum, where he revealed that several panels had overspray from its rushed paint job, the neon lights were hot-glued on several areas, the seats and interior trim were made of bath mats, and the seat belts had been deleted. In addition, the trunk was gutted out, with the gas tank replaced with a fuel cell.[5]

Trivia[]

  • Suki's S2000 hero car is housed at the Peterson Automotive Museum.[6][7]
  • One of her S2000 replicas is currently in the possession of a car owner in the Netherlands.
  • Suki's pink 2000 Honda S2000 was featured on music videos for artists are Lindsay Lohan's "First" (2005) and Pink's "Stupid Girls" (2006).[8][9]
  • Suki's S2000 can be seen parked in Bring It On: Fight to the Finish when the cheer squad is at the "impromptu flavour school"trying to work on their movements in East Los Angeles.
  • Devon Aoki, the actress, who plays Suki drives the same Honda S2000, in the Ludacris music video, "Act a Fool".
  • West Coast Customs were involved in the creation of this S2000.
  • Most of the cars were heavily reinforced with roll cages for the bridge jump. However, the roll cage would have been all too obvious in the convertible Honda S2000; so the stunt crew rigged up a remote control version for the jump with a dummy in the driver's seat.
  • For production of 2 Fast 2 Furious, the Honda S2000 from The Fast and the Furious was purchased by David Marder from R.J. de Vera and repurposed for Suki's S2000.[10]
  • This raises inconsistencies as R.J.'s S2000 was a 2000 model year yet Suki's is listed as a 2001 model year despite the fact that it is the same car from the original film.
  • This Honda S2000 was featured on a 2005 episode of NCIS.

As an automotive enthusiast with a deep knowledge of the 2000 Honda S2000 and its role in the movie "2 Fast 2 Furious," I can confidently share insights into the specifications, trivia, and media-related aspects of Suki's iconic pink Honda S2000.

Specifications: Suki's S2000 in "2 Fast 2 Furious" is not just a visually striking car but also packs a punch under the hood. It features a custom set of pink vinyls and a bottle of Nitrous behind the seats for that extra boost during races. The engine is a 2-liter aluminum-alloy DOHC F20C1 inline 4, equipped with a Comptech supercharger. The exhaust system is a Paxton Novi 1000 Toucan Industries, featuring a non-functioning Ractive chrome tip. Appearance modifications include a VeilSide Millennium body kit, Motegi Racing 18" rims, and airbrushed artwork by Noah of Noah Fine Art.

Interestingly, in a review by YouTuber Doug DeMuro at the Peterson Automotive Museum on September 15, 2020, it was revealed that Suki's S2000 had some unconventional features. Several panels had overspray from its rushed paint job, neon lights were hot-glued in various areas, seats and interior trim were made of bath mats, and the seat belts had been deleted. Additionally, the trunk was gutted out, with the gas tank replaced with a fuel cell.

Trivia: Suki's S2000 has achieved a level of fame beyond the movie. The hero car used in the film is housed at the Peterson Automotive Museum. Furthermore, one of the S2000 replicas is in the possession of a car owner in the Netherlands. The car has also made appearances in music videos for Lindsay Lohan's "First" (2005) and Pink's "Stupid Girls" (2006). Actress Devon Aoki, who plays Suki, drove the same Honda S2000 in the Ludacris music video, "Act a Fool." West Coast Customs played a significant role in the creation of this iconic S2000.

Media: The Honda S2000's presence extends beyond the movie, as seen in various videos and promotional materials. For instance, there's a behind-the-scenes video titled "2 Fast 2 Furious Behind The Scenes - Pink Car (2003)." The car has also been featured in the video game Forza 5 Fast & Furious Car Build. Additionally, there's a notable gallery of screenshots showcasing the Honda S2000 before the race, with pink neon lights on the underbelly of the car.

In the realm of television, Suki's S2000 was briefly featured alongside Slap Jack's 1993 Toyota Supra on the NCIS season 2 episode "Bikini Wax."

Production Insights: One fascinating production detail is that for the movie "2 Fast 2 Furious," the Honda S2000 from "The Fast and the Furious" was repurposed for Suki's S2000. David Marder purchased it from R.J. de Vera, who originally owned it, raising some inconsistencies since R.J.'s S2000 was a 2000 model year, yet Suki's is listed as a 2001 model year despite being the same car from the original film.

In conclusion, Suki's pink Honda S2000 is not just a visually appealing car in a movie; it's a pop culture icon with a rich history, unique features, and a significant presence in various forms of media.
