Most people have no idea what proofreading is about. I can’t blame them because it was not a common doing during the past years.
There was a time I had no clue what proofreading was, until I started blogging and learnt new things as I move on.

I got my logo created by one of the sellers at fiverr for as little as $5.
Every service has their rates, but be careful if you are a buyer you need to check out for star ratings and fiverr recommendations.
So if you are a beginner I would highly suggest you enroll yourself with fiverr before going higher brands.
One good thing with fiverr is once you paid the money does not directly goes to the seller until you are satisfied with your work.
As a seller you should make sure you provide high quality content to satisfy the buyer’s needs.
2. Flexjobs
Flexjobs is a good platform that helps stay at home moms to get better way to work.
It is recognized by bigger brands like forbes. It has a monthly membership of $15.
I got access to all kinds of jobs, they also have a special section for just editors, writer and proofreaders.
Give it a try and check out their various job offers, you can cancel your membership anytime. What I liked about this platform is they have exciting offers and I made more money than other platforms.
3. Wordvice
Wordvice is an incredible platform which gives writers, editors and proofreaders an opportunity to make money from home.
They seek for qualified writers and editors for their platform.
How it works, you are supposed to give an amount of words to work with and they give you a rough quote for the job.
I submitted my resume and you wait for their email to get approved or if there is any job available for you at the moment.
It is not beginner friendly I would suggest because it requires high skilled writers and proofreaders.

Scribe media is one of the best known sites that helps people write, publish and also launch their dream book.
It is one of the sites known to guide authors turn their dream into reality, one of my friends is a writer and she published her book with scribe media.
They hire proofreaders to help authors in checking any grammatical errors.

Kirkus media is known for book reviewers and editors, I once submitted my resume and got accepted.
You need to produce a sample for your book reviews, I registered as an editor.

For one to get hired at ProofreadNow he/she should have a minimum of atleast 5 years of experience.
Several test will be issued for you to undertake to pass their job application.
They have a price quote for their applicants so that they can have a rough idea of their rates.
Proofreading jobs are not always available, but keep coming back to their site, they post regularly proofreading projects.
One thing I like about them is, when they accept you, it is such a worthy experience because the amount of work they offer and their pay is satisfying.

It is a type of site that is mainly created for people who have knowledge in science.
Mostly known for academics services, they hire proofreaders aswell as professional translators who have a basic knowledge in science and english.
11. Editor World
Editor World is a professional company that accepts applicants with a degree holder and speak fluent English.
They on a contract basis.
I got a quote of their paying rates before even getting accepted and that what I like about companies which you their approximate prices.
There are several categories of proofreading and editing, you just have to choose which one you are good at.

It was created by a student from Harvard University, she studied languages and literature.
It hires students, professors, anyone can join as long as they are good in native speaking.
They regularly post proofreading jobs, you will be needed to take tests and submit your resume for you to get approval.

Writer’s relief I would say is not a beginner friendly site, for those who are just starting out in freelance or proofreading career.
They only accept very high qualified applicants almost just 5% who applied for the job.
If you get accepted you can make roughly $150 per article.

It is mostly for academical editors and proofreaders, students who would like their essays to be polished they submit them to Kibin.
Writers, editors take charge from here, their requirement should have atleast a 2 year experience in native English.
